EPFL Master Excellence Fellowships in Switzerland

EPFL, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, is offering a limited number of fellowships at master’s level to students with outstanding academic records. Anyone applying to an EPFL master’s program is eligible.

Based in Lausanne (Switzerland), EPFL is a university whose three missions are education, research, and innovation. There are students of 112 different nationalities in EPFL. The campus lies on the shores of Lake Geneva and consists of 65 buildings across 136 acres. Facilities include banks, bars, two museums, as well as bars, restaurants, and cafeterias.

EPFL is ranked 14 worldwide according to QS World University Rankings.

 

About EPFL Fellowships

Level : Master.

Financing : $10,730 per semester.

EPFL Fellowships Benefits

Selected candidates for the EPFL fellowships will be granted CHF 10’000 per semester ($10.730), a reservation of a student room in a student residence and a certificate of excellence (at the end of the master’s program). The fellowship will be paid for 4 semesters maximum.

Fellowship holders will be responsible to cover all expenses on their own (including rents, visa, travel cost).

Eligibilty criteria

Anyone applying to an EPFL master’s program is eligible and will be considered for the fellowships. The selection of candidates and the granting of the scholarship are based on the evaluation of the academic records of the candidates. EPFL scholarship’s selection process is very competitive, only about 3% of the master students receive such financial support.

 

 

How to apply to the EPFL fellowships?

There is no separate form to apply for the EPFL fellowships. When you apply for a master’s program, you will be automatically considered for the fellowships.

To apply for a master’s program at EPFL, use this form. The application process is done entirely online, in French or English. Before starting your online application, read all the instructions on this page. You may only submit one application and apply for one program per academic year.

During your application, you will be requested to upload the following documents. It should be in English, French, German, or Italian. (join a legalized translation of all documents in another language):

  • Your curriculum vitae.
  • Copy of your University degree(s), if already available.
  • Complete transcripts from each university you have attended.
  • statement of purpose.
  • The contact details of three academic referees.
  • Your identity card or passport.

Extra documents, such as TOEFL or GRE scores, research publications, or other portfolios of your previous work, are welcome but not compulsory.

There is an application fee of $50. The fee is not refunded in case of non-validation or withdrawal of the application. The fees are payable directly to EPFL.

There are no specific documents to be provided for the EPFL fellowships in addition to those required for the admission to the Master.
