Campus France is a public institution in charge of promoting French higher education abroad and welcoming foreign students and researchers in France. It encourages international mobility, manages scholarship programmes and runs the alumni network.

The missions of Campus France

Promoting French higher education

Campus France is a public institution under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. Its activities are carried out in consultation with higher education institutions and their representative conferences: the Conference of University Presidents (CPU), the Conference of Grandes Ecoles (CGE) and the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI).

Campus France provides foreign students and researchers with tools so that they can learn more about French higher education institutions and find the right one for their project.

Campus France also supports French higher education institutions and research organisations in their international development strategy.

Implementing scholarship and mobility programmes

Campus France is responsible for promoting the mobility of foreign students and researchers to France. In this capacity, the agency implements numerous scholarship programmes, from the publication of calls for applications to the reception of programme beneficiaries in France.

Campus France also supervises the departure of French experts abroad and the arrival and reception of foreign personalities or experts in France.

Welcoming foreign students and researchers to France

Campus France provides foreign students and researchers with all the information they need to prepare their stay and settle in France. Campus France also ensures that foreign students and researchers are well received by helping higher education institutions and local authorities to improve their reception and integration arrangements.

Facilitating the international mobility of French students

One of Campus France's missions is to provide assistance and expertise to French students wishing to study in a foreign country. The agency thus promotes the Erasmus programme in France. French higher education institutions are encouraged to form partnerships with European institutions so that their students can receive funding and do part of their studies in another European country.

Campus France is also in charge of managing scholarship programmes for French students. Many studies on outgoing mobility are also published by Campus France to help French students choose their destination.

Finally, Campus France offers its expertise to other countries wishing to promote their higher education system and their institutions to French students or institutional audiences.
